INCOMING Geelong CEO Steve Hocking won’t come into the role cold, with incumbent Brian Cook keeping his replacement in the loop on important decisions at the club.

Hocking will put his feet under the desk in mid-October, ahead of a transition period lasting until the end of the year.

Cook says there are several pressing issues for the Cats.

“The first thing is to try and win a flag,” Cook told K rock Football.c“Outside of that, we’ve got stage five (redevelopment) starting in about three weeks time.

The demolition before the construction, that’s big on our list.

“Our cash flow at the moment’s been really tested, so we’ve got to stay on that day-by-day.

“We also have to put together a budget for next year.

“And I’m doing a lot of these things with Steve Hocking understanding what I’m doing because I don’t want Steve to come in and inherit things that he may not agree with.”
