GEELONG has avoided a trip to Cairns for its final home-and-away match of the 2020 season and instead will be the ‘away’ team against Sydney on the Gold Coast.

There had been speculation Chris Scott’s men would be sent to Far North Queensland to take on the Swans, who have been based there since returning from the Perth hub.

CAT ATTACK PODCAST – SEPTEMBER 8

And in better news for the Cats, they will be afforded a nine-day break between the match-up with Richmond this Friday night with the Swans scheduled for Sunday, September 20.

It will be the Cats’ fourth appearance at Metricon Stadium in 2020.

CATS: SAM ENJOYING STABILITY

They’ve beaten both Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs at the venue, and return there on Friday night for a meeting with Richmond.

Round 18 opens at Metricon Stadium on Thursday, September 17 with North Melbourne hosting West Coast and finished with the mouth-watering match-up between Collingwood and Port Adelaide on Monday, September 21.
