INAUGURAL AFLW squad member Maddie Boyd is among three players delisted by Geelong.

The Cats have also confirmed the departure of 2019 draftees Nicole Garner and Mia Skinner.

Boyd, who kicked Geelong’s first AFLW goal in Round 1, 2019, played 13 games in the Hoops for a career total of 22 following a season at both Melbourne and the GWS Giants.

It is understood the popular Boyd has been given the option to remain with the Cats’ VFLW squad, where she been a key player in their 3-2 start to the season.

Former baseballer Garner played seven matches after being selected with pick 50 in the 2019 AFLW draft.

After failing to appear at senior level in 2020, she made her debut in Round 3 this year and held her spot for the remainder of the season.

Skinner, who was drafted from the Geelong Falcons, had two injury-interrupted seasons with the Cats and failed to play an AFLW game.

“Maddie, Nic, Mia and Aasta have all made significant contributions to our AFLW program and our club as a whole,” Geelong’s AFLW boss Brett Johnson said.

“We wish them all the best in life both on and off the footy field.”

The delisting of Boyd, Garner and Skinner brings the total number of changes to the Cats’ list to four following veteran ruck Aasta O’Connor’s retirement.
